MOUNTAIN HOUSE (CBS13) – The suspicious backpacking investigation at Mountain House High School is over. The bag did not contain a suspicious device, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said.
The backpack in question at Mountain House High School was cleaned and did not contain any explosive devices.
The SJSO and school administrators will work together to find the lead. Investigation
is in progress. You can now collect your cars from school.

Early Monday afternoon, the bag and a note warning that there was a bomb inside the bag were found in the school’s multi-purpose room. The sheriff’s office says the note and bag sparked an investigation.

As a precaution, the school and several neighboring houses were evacuated. The sheriff’s office bomb squad came to the school and investigated the bag, including an x-ray.
School administrators and the sheriff’s office are investigating the perpetrator.

The students were taken to Julius Cordes Primary School to be picked up by family members.
