Loyant’s recording enters its final phase

The Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) released florpyrauxifen-benzyl (Loyant) as Loyant® CA with the active herbicide Rinskor™ under Notice of Proposed Registration Decisions on July 1. This begins a 30-day public notification process that ends July 31. CRC is working with Corteva and DPR to streamline paperwork at the end of the registration process to closely follow July 31.

All Loyant requests are made only by land. Loyant has a pre-harvest interval (PHI) of 60 days, so the herbicide could be used in special circumstances on rice planted later. Regardless of availability this year, Loyant will be available for use in the 2023 season, with Corteva providing stewardship during winter grower meetings. Loyant is used to control or suppress grasses, sedges and broadleaf weeds.

CRC worked closely with Corteva and DPR on the final stages of registration where the process stalled due to process changes. Fortunately, a combination of positive and long-standing working relationships between CRC, DPR and Corteva has paid off in moving registration forward.
