Another £million in Arena TV assets emerge from former boss’ office for May 4 auction

DEVON, UK, April 4, 2022 / — Hickman mower and CA Global Partners announced a follow-on sale of Arena TV assets involving equipment estimated at £1million being held in the locked office of former boss Richard Yeowart.

The companies raised £8million on behalf of creditors in a landmark three-day auction, with private sales, in February.

It involved more than 3,000 lots, from outside broadcast trucks to cameras, lenses and hundreds of miles of cabling, creating an unprecedented opportunity for television production companies to acquire valuable equipment at a time when market prices primary were on the rise.

The new sale, conducted via live webcast on May 4, will conclude the dispersal of Arena’s assets, offering a significant portfolio of additional equipment not previously released. It includes cameras, lenses, grip, OB trailer, tenders and external broadcast production equipment.*

The release follows the Serious Fraud Office’s ongoing investigation into the scandal.

Tim Chapman, Managing Director of Hickman Shearer, said: “Recovering the value of assets in the most efficient and timely manner possible on behalf of creditors is a critical aspect of any administrative process such as this. Our February dispersion results, which significantly exceeded estimates, show that the modern auction process is a great way to do this.

CAGP, which operates a live online auction system with a global reach, registered more than 850 bidders from more than 50 countries for the February auction round.

“We anticipate just as much enthusiasm for the offering this time around,” said Dan Main, EMEA Director.

“The quality of the equipment and the professionalism of the teams that took care of it are unrivalled, and it is extremely rare to see equipment of this standard available at auction.”
