January 25, 1965 – October 7, 2021

FOX LAKE, IL – Catherine A. “Catie” Lichter, 56, of Fox Lake, IL, died on October 7, 2021, at her home.

A Christian funeral mass will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 15, 2021, at St. Rose of Lima Church, Cuba City, WI, with Reverend David Flanagan as officiant. A public visit for friends will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. on Friday at the church. Casey-McNett Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cuba City helps the family. After the service, refreshments will be served at Uno in Platteville.

Catie was born January 25, 1965 in Platteville, WI, daughter of Ralph and Rita (Vaassen) Curtis. Catie is a graduate of Platteville High School and UW-Platteville. She married Larry Lichter on August 12, 2006, in Lake Geneva, WI.

She enjoyed traveling all over the world, reading, belly laughing with friends and family, boating, gardening, taking care of her grandchildren and listening to live music. She has always been a gracious host and has never turned down a good time.

Catie was a long-time supporter of the Wisconsin Badger Camp, first as a counselor and finally as a member of the board.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Lichter, Fox Lake, IL; parents, Ralph and Rita Curtis, Platteville; four daughters: Taylor (fiancé, Nick Moes) Welsch, Oak Creek, WI, Kelsey Welsch, Minneapolis, MN, Michelle (Clint) Evans, Arkdale, WI, and Lauren (fiancé, Justin Murphy) Lichter, Silver Lake, WI; one son, Dylan Lichter, Grass Valley, Calif .; one sister, Kelly (Ron) Cooley, Lancaster, WI; one brother, Mike (Sue) Curtis, Mineral Point, WI; and three grandchildren: Ashton, Mila and Eleanor.

A celebration of life will take place at a later date.

Donations can be made in Catie’s honor at Wisconsin Badger Camp.
